Mexico City, a sprawling metropolis brimming with history and vibrant culture, can feel overwhelming for some travelers. For those with a fear of elevators or heights, navigating this bustling city can be a daunting prospect. The good news? I understand the anxiety that can come with elevators and heights. The feeling of being confined in a small, enclosed space while soaring high above the ground isn’t pleasant. So, during my recent trip to Mexico City, I made a conscious effort to seek out hotels with easily accessible stairs. I stayed in each one of these hotels and took the stairs to my room. It’s important to note, the stairwells are easy to access and provide access to all guest floors.
Camino Real Polanco Mexico: 5 Floors ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This iconic hotel, a landmark in Polanco, offers a luxurious experience with a focus on elegance and sophistication. With only five floors, climbing the stairs is a breeze. I stayed on the fourth floor and accessing my room was easy without ever having to step on an elevator. The wider than normal staircase is open beside the elevators and has handrails on both sides.
The hotel boasts renowned restaurants and garden with heated pool. It’s a sanctuary in the middle of the most popular area for tourists in Mexico City.
